    Planning is well underway for the 2013 Marine Science Forum!

    This year’s Forum is titled ‘Who cares? Global research, local issues’ and will be held on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of May at the Eden Marine High School Hall.

    Speakers confirmed for this year’s Forum so far include:

        • Dr Ziggy Marzinelli – Sydney Institute of Marine Science – speaking about the restoration of missing underwater forests.
        • Dr Jane Sexton – Geoscience Australia – speaking about the potential tsunami impact in Australia.
        • Dr Pia Winberg – Shoalhaven Marine and Freshwater Centre (University of Wollongong) – speaking about the NSW oyster industry.
        • Dr Scott Ling – Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (University of Tasmania) – speaking about sea urchin threats and controls.

    Marine Scientist and Teacher for the Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre. Sheree has a Bachelor of Marine Science (Hons) from the University of Wollongong. Her honours thesis evaluated the use of underwater video to study estuarine fish assemblages. She also has a Graduate Diploma in Education from University of New England. Before moving to Eden, Sheree worked as a fisheries research scientist with the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
