We will be re-exploring the themes of human induced problems in our oceans, a subject matter gaining much attention with tv such as War on Waste and Sir David Attenborough’s Blue Planet II. We will find out if our oceans are getting better or worse, what impacts humans are having, catch up on new research and all in a fun and informative atmosphere. Find out what you can do to save the very thing that gives the whole planet life – our ocean.
We have another excellent line up of special guests presenters from all over Australia, including Jimmy White PhD from Bold Earth; Heidi Taylor CEO of Tangaroa Blue; a special screening of the film Blue presented by editor and producer Vanessa Milton and Matthew McArthur, freelance ecologist and marine science educator also joins the team.
Saturday afternoon’s Source Reduction Workshop hosted by Heidi Taylor is FREE and open to all business owners and concerned locals alike, while Saturday night sees an exciting new edition to the forum this year with a Big Blue Trivia Night hosted by Anthony Hill of Plastic Pollution Solutions.
Sunday sees a special Q&A panel of all presenters and some local experts Toby Browne from Bega Valley Shire Council and Karen Joynes from No Balloons Release Australia, as well as Doug Reckord from Bournda Environmental Education Centre After some morning tea the forum will finally conclude with the very reasons why we need to save our oceans with a stunning presentation of marine images by local photographer and philanthropist Peter Hannan.
Action packed, information filled & family friendly while still keeping within our missions of providing marine science education to everyone.
