We were very excited to receive advice today from the Australian Government Caring for our Country Grants Program that we have succeeded with an application for a Community Action Grant. The Grant Project is a joint initiative between SCMDC, Australian Seabird Rescue Organisation, Far South Coast Birdwatchers and National Parks & Wildlife Shorebird Recovery Program.

Funds will be used to hold workshops to train community members how to safely help seabirds who are injured, caught by fishing line etc.  The Grant will also fund workshops about the Shorebird Recovery Program and to set up a display on shorebirds and seabirds in the Discovery Centre.
