• ‘Sea Connections’ a huge success

Our 4th Annual Marine Science Forum was a huge success with increased attendance rates from previous years.  The Eden Marine High School Hall was a fantastic venue and all six speakers commented on the enthusiasm of the audience and the depth of the questions they were asked.

Visitors came from all over the place this year – Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Illawarra and all over the Bega Valley Shire to hear presentations from a number of highly regarded marine scientists.  Saturday’s sessions ended with tours of the Discovery Centre and a geology walk led by Board Member and marine geologist Dr Anne Felton.  The Forum dinner was held at Mystique Restaurant this year and people are still raving about the superb food and service received.

Sunday saw another three presentations and finished on a very high note with plenty of networking taking place before everyone left the Hall to enjoy the beautiful autumn sunshine.

Plans are already underway for next year’s Forum with a number of exciting ideas being canvassed.

This year's Forum presenters enjoying the sunshine.
