A new research project is being set up in the lab by a team supervised by Dr Stephen Eggins from the ANU Research School of Earth Sciences.  It all looks fairly impressive with large tubs of water with overhead lights installed by close of day.

The small research team will be staying in Eden almost till Christmas and their work involves contracting a local recreational fisherman to take them out for plankton tows several times a week.  Thanks to Peter (‘Mal’) Rankin for being our local research assistant.

It’s great to see some more research activities being conducted in our region and our lab being used for ‘real’ research again.  We will continue to improve our facilities to ensure we can meet the needs of further research projects.
