    Dive into a marine adventure along the Sapphire Coast. Get hands-on and experience the local marine life in the wild.

     

    Rocky Shore Ramble

    Join an experienced marine guide to explore rock pools and discover the creatures that inhabit our rocky shore.

    Target year level: K – 12
    Cost: $10 per student
    Time: 1.5 hrs
    Group size: max 15 students. Due to the fragility of this natural ecosytem, class sizes are limited.

    Classes of 20+ will work on a rotational basis – you can discuss your needs with a staff member.

     

     

    Rocky Shore Research

    BCC_26214 009Take an in-depth look into the life on a rock platform and what factors influence the biodiversity there.
    Explore the biotic and abiotic factors in the intertidal zone using scientific testing and transects.

    This program covers the required fieldwork component of Year 11 biology for the NSW and Australian Curriculum.

    Target year level: 7 -12
    Cost: $15 per student
    Time: 1.5 hours

    Sapphire Snorkel Safari

    Dive in and experience a guided snorkel, discovering the beauty of the life on our coast. Mask, snorkel and fins provided. We have a limited number of wetsuits available.
    Run by a qualified SSI snorkel instructor.
    Target year level: 7-12 (good swimmers)
    Cost: $25 per student
    Time: 2 hours
    Group size: 8-10 students

    Discover Dune Diversity

    Students will have the chance to explore and investigate a sand dune system and look at the biotic and abiotic factors that affect it.

    Target year level: Yr7 – 12
    Cost: $10 per student
    Time: 2 hours
    Group size: 10 – 30 students

    Oyster Farm Boat Tour

    Take a tour on Pambula Lake and learn about oyster farming in the area, its history, modern techniques and biology with Captain Sponges Magical Oyster Tours.

    vCost: $15 per student
    Time: 1.5 hours
    Group size: 6 – 20 students
