Who We Are
The Centre Who We Are

The Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre (SCMDC) is a not-for-profit community organisation which aims to become Australia’s best temperate marine education and research centre. A multi-faceted organisation, SCMDC has established a Marine Discovery Centre in Snug Cove, Eden, NSW, linked with education programs for school and community groups, facilities to support research into the marine environment and outdoor educational activity programs.
Established under The Eden Whale Discovery Centre Research Trust, and governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, the SCMDC is staffed by a full-time Executive Officer, part-time Administration Officer, Marine Teacher and Technical Officer. The latter two positions were made possible through Grants from both Government and non-Government programs. Funding for continuation of these two positions has not yet been achieved.

As the organisation is a Registered Charity with Deductible
Gift Recipient (DGR) status, all donations to The Eden Whale Discovery Centre Research Trust are fully tax deductible.
