    Eden Whale Festival

    The Eden Whale Festival is an annual event, highlighting the southern migration of the humpback and other whales. The 2016 Eden Whale Festival will be held on Saturday October 292016

    For one weekend each year, the rich maritime and whaling history of this port on the Wilderness Coast becomes the centrepiece for a weekend that somehow seamlessly links all things whale. There’s a spectacular street parade, vibrant markets showcasing and selling the work of local artisans, great local food and wine, educational marine displays and presentations, quality children’s entertainment, live music and – of course – the best whale watching experience in Australia. Visit – for a whale of a time!

    Saturday October 29

    Open 10.30am – 4pm

    Fish feeding talk – 12pm

    Come and see the fish enjoy their lunch and hear more about the species living in the tanks.

    Shore Based Whale Watching – 12.30 -1.30pm

    Located at Rotary Park Lookout. Let us help you to see the different types of whales and recognise some of their energetic behaviours such as tail slapping, pec slapping and breaching. Our mobile whale watching exhibit comprises of several sets of binoculars, ID and information sheets, books and a range of supporting information about whales, marine life and the local area.

    Whale Wise talk – 2pm

    Whale Wise is an engaging interactive presentation that discusses the beauty and biology behind our oceans gentle giants. Discover how to identify whales, the true size of them and feel real whale bones.
