    Saturday October 29

    Open 10.30am – 4pm

    Fish feeding talk – 12pm

    Come and see the fish enjoy their lunch and hear more about the species living in the tanks.

    Shore Based Whale Watching – 12.30 -1.30pmkerryn and paul

    Located at Rotary Park Lookout. Let us help you to see the different types of whales and recognise some of their energetic behaviours such as tail slapping, pec slapping and breaching. Our mobile whale watching exhibit comprises of several sets of binoculars, ID and information sheets, books and a range of supporting information about whales, marine life and the local area.

    Whale Wise talk – 2pm

    jill with whale bonesWhale Wise is an engaging interactive presentation that discusses the beauty and biology behind our oceans gentle giants. Discover how to identify whales, the true size of them and feel real whale bones.

     

    Sea Shepherd presentation – 3pm

    This will be an introduction to Sea Shepherd, the history of the organisation, some of their past and current campaigns, issues affecting the ocean and ways the public can get involved and help out. It will have a particular focus on the anti-whaling campaigns that they have running.

    About

    Marine Education Officer for the Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre. A qualified marine scientist and educator with a Bachelor degree in Global and Ocean Science obtained from the Australian National University and a Graduate Diploma in Science Communication.
