We are year ten students from Eden Marine High School and we have recently just finished a week of work experience at the Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre. Our week at the Marine Discovery Centre has been great. We’ve done things from artDSC_0032 DSC_0016and craft to interacting with the marine life here at the centre. We decided to complete our work experience here because we are both interested in the marine environment and enjoy all that the ocean has got to offer. We’ve both been in the Marine Studies course at school for two years now and were interested in finding out what things are possible after school. We helped create a new shark display, designed and created a brand new interactive game for the whale exhibit, tested out different art DSC_0052and craft holiday activities, sorted the rubbish from a recent beach clean up, gave Gerry the octopus a Rubik’s cube to see what would happen (she tore it to pieces and we had to fish for them in the tank) and tested water quality in the tanks throughout the centre. It has been a thoroughly enjoyable week and we would definitely recommend people coming here to learn, interact and discover.
