• New Education Programs for 2014

    The Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre is excited to announce the introduction of 2 NEW education programs in 2014.

    • Marine Debris – What’s the harm?

    A hands-on, scientific look at what marine debris is and the  impacts that debris can have on our marine environment. Students will participate in discussion and activities surrounding this important environmental issue.

    Target year level: K – 8
    Cost: $150 per session (1hr, group size – min. 10 max 30)

    • Discover Dune DiversityBeach excursion

    Students will have the chance to explore and investigate a sand dune system and look at the biotic and abiotic factors that affect it. This is a wonderful program to get students learning and practicing their scientific inquiry skills.
    Target year level: 5- 12
    Cost: $10 per student (2hr, group size – min. 10 max 30)

    Marine Education Officer for the Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre. A qualified marine scientist and educator with a Bachelor degree in Global and Ocean Science obtained from the Australian National University and a Graduate Diploma in Science Communication.
