The Centre was absolutely packed all day Saturday during the Eden Whale Festival.  Our ‘people counter’ clicked just under 500 people through but suggests that due to being called on for other duties at times, we probably far exceeded that number.  It was wonderful to see so many families come through the doors and enjoy our displays, enter our colouring competition, make themselves a killer whale hat and more.

We cannot thank our wonderful volunteers enough.  We don’t often single people out but Alan Scrymgeour was just outstanding.  Alan worked all day without a break, although we did manage to smuggle  him some food and drink!  And he came back for more on Sunday so a special thank you to Alan.

Alan was ably helped by Liz, Neil, Anita and John as well as staff family members who all pitched in to help.

Presentations by Dr Danielle Clode and Natalie Schmitt were full and the interest was high.

All in all a wonderful Festival.  Thanks for helping us to celebrate our wonderful whales.
